Between today and tomorrow the race on the shores of Tagliamento and Cosa
Yesterday at the Cantina di Rauscedo, during the sporting and technical checks of the Italian Baja di Primavera, there was a special air, a sense of sharing and belonging. Old and new protagonists of the tricolor off-road vehicle proud of this new adventure that marks an important relaunch for the cross country rally specialty.
PORDENONE CAPITAL. The tradition of the Italian Baja is now starting in the quarter of a century, which will be celebrated in style in June 2018. But this year, with three races in the reference area ("serious" of Meduna, Cosa, Tagliamento), the Off-road Club 4x4 Pordenone certifies its role of guide and compass for all fans of clawed wheels.
TODAY AND TOMORROW. The titling of the selective sectors is a clear tribute to the Cantina di Rauscedo - which houses the entire logistics structure of the competition - and to its excellent wines. Official departure this morning from the cooperative square (9:40 am), then the start (10:00 am) of “Ribolla Giallo” (25.16 km) from Barbeano, close to the Provincial Road 73 which passes in front of the Tauriano Barracks. At 11:15 am in the Cellar the meeting of the top ten classified competitors is scheduled for the choice of the starting order valid for the second (12:30) and third (15:00) lap on the timed track. Tomorrow restart in order of stage classification. Reverse route (25.05 km) from the Vodnjan bridge to Barbeano (start 9:30 and 12:00). Arrival and awards ceremony in Piazza Garibaldi in Spilimbergo (14:30).
GROUPS AND CLASSES. To find your way between the car and ranking values, it should be borne in mind that Group T1 (prototypes) is divided into Class T1.1 (petrol 4-wheel drive), T1.2 (diesel 4wd), T1.3 (petrol 2wd) and T1.4 (2wd diesel). Only two classes in Group T2 (standard): T2.1 (petrol) and T2.2 (diesel). The TH Group includes vehicles with expired homologation, divided by class of engine capacity, petrol and diesel. Finally, the TM Group in a single Class, which includes the “Side by Side Vehicles” with turbocharged and aspirated engines.
HOUSE HEROES. Three Pordenone crews in contention: Andrea Tomasini - Mauro Toffoli (Peugeot Gwr01), Federico Crozzolo - Paolo Pasian (Nissan Navara Ermolli), Mauro Vagaggnini - Manuela Perissinotti (Yamaha Yzx 1000 R), all from North East Ideas. Engaged as navigators Mauro Nadin (pilot Andrea Toro), Roberto Marzocco (Nicolò Algarotti), Angelo Mirolo (Alessandro Uliana), Sandra Castellani (Giuseppe Ananasso).
