The flood of rivers forced the Off-road Club Pordenone to the umpteenth test of strength. The route has been modified and the roadmap has been kept intact
The show is about to begin, but the weather has put a spoke in the wheels with days of conspicuous showers. Forcing the Off-road Club 4 × 4 Pordenone to the umpteenth test of strength: continuous inspections on the competition ground and changes in record time to the track to preserve the 25 kilometers of the selective sectors "Ribolla Gialla" (three laps on Saturday) and "Villa Manin Rosso "(Two Sundays).
The Italian Baja di Primavera is however ready to go on stage with the whole renewed repertoire of the Italian Cross Country Championship, the first act of a six-act championship journey that will end in November with the Italian Baja d’Autunno.
It starts on Friday afternoon: sporting and technical checks of the competitors at the Pordenone Interport, at the Tavella Professional, from 4 to 9.30 pm. Then the caravan will move to the headquarters set up at the Cantina di Rauscedo where the mandatory briefing with the crews will be carried out.
Ears wide open to listen to the organization's notes on some particular points of the track, last-minute changes, indications from the race director. On Saturday, with the weather now appearing favorable, the first car left the winery at 9:40 and the first "Ribolla Gialla" started in Barbeano at 10:00. Timetable that provides for the selection ceremony of the ten restart numbers between the first and second selective sectors.
And unlike dirt rallies, where those who start in front sweep the road to rivals, in cross country sprinting in front of everyone means tackling a track less ruined by deep ruts and mixed tracks that do not give an optimal reference for the trajectories.
Second start at 12:30, the third at 15:00: vehicles T1 (prototypes), T3 (light), T2 (standard), TM (side by side), TX (ultra4) and TH ( expired approvals). On Sunday the two “Villa Manin Rosso” at 9:30 and 12:00. The awards ceremony in Cantina Rauscedo from 2.00 pm. The membership count has not yet finished. But the championship challenge finds one of its main players, Lorenzo Codecà from Brianza (8 titles) with the Suzuki New Grand Vitara of Emmetre Racing, the official team of the Japanese brand in Italy, which also lines up Andrea Tomasini from Sacile. It will be fun.
