In Pordenone the first seven of the World Cup ranking will compete. Competitors from 21 nations and 3 continents to regenerate the challenge on the shores
Pordenone, 4st September 2021_In its long history, it has never happened to the Italian Baja to be decisive for the fate of the World Cup.
Running in March, or in June or between the end of July and the beginning of August, there were always other races to give the final face to the general ranking. But this time, thanks to a collocation in the calendar as the penultimate appointment of the 2021 season, the challenge in Pordenone, which finally returns after a year of stop due to pandemic, could assign the overall title and that of the side by side (T4), making the sparkling wine uncorked at the arrival in style on the stage of the Interporto Centro Ingrosso.
The official list of members has not yet been decided by the Fia, but it is possible to anticipate that the first 7 drivers of the general classification and the first 5 of the T4 category will be at the start, where Amerigo Ventura, from Piedmont, hopes to be the protagonist, even though he has been cut out of the race for the supremacy in a year characterized by a lot of bad luck, even at the level of the Italian Championship.
From Thursday 9 st to Saturday 11st will be three days of roaring emotions between preparations and race on the shores of the rivers Meduna, Cosa, Tagliamento, with a formidable mixture of competitors coming from 21 nations and 3 continents. In contention, as announced, also the Saudi Arabian Dania Akeel although she has practically already conquered the T3 Cup with the results obtained not only in her home race, but also in Jordan, Hungary and Poland. The greatest interest will obviously be focused on the top challenge between the X-Raid team's bearers Yasir Seaidan and Krzysztof Holowczyc with the Mini John Cooper Works Rally and Yazeed Al Rajhi driving the Toyota Hilux Overdrive. For the cases of the motorsport life, Holowczyc won the 2010 Italian Baja paired with Jean Marc Fortin, current Overdrive team manager who has Al Rajhi in force as in 2014, when it was he who won the race organized by Fuoristrada Club 4x4 Pordenone.
