Start from the main square of Cordenons (at 5pm) and “Super Special Stage” along the Meduna riverbed.
The great day is finally arrived. Awaited since last year, the Italian Baja is back for its fans with the show of the FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rally.
This morning the side of the Tagliamento riverbed flowing through Sedegliano will host the “shakedown” from 9am to 12pm, the test faced by all vehicles. Then everybody will come back to the Pordenone Fair, not to loose the press conference with the big car and bike champions and the “briefing” with all participants to explain them all difficult parts of the route, followed by the transfer until Cordenons, where the race will officially start at 5pm from the main square, Piazza della Vittoria.
SUPER SPECIAL STAGE. It deals on the short Selective Section along the 10,27 km stream bed offered by the Meduna river, the traditional aperitif to get the first classification and the starting order for the second Leg which will be faced on Saturday. Cars start at 5:15pm, followed by bikes and quads. The convoy will be back at the Fair to reach the Assistance and than once more everybody in Cordenons to assist at the ceremony during which the first 10 starting numbers will be assigned for Saturday’s race.
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. Tomorrow the Selective Sector “Arzene”, 74,40 km long, from San Lorenzo to Valvasone; first start at 9:30am, the second one at 1:30pm, faced in order by cars first, then by bikes and quads. On Sunday inverted route and the “Rauscedo” Selective Sector, 74,40 km long, from Valvasone to San Lorenzo di Arzene.
SPECTACULAR POINTS. Not just the fords crossing and the muddy areas, but especially the “Rauscedo jump”, the “Valvadrom” village and the new “Smart Race Arena” located in San Martino al Tagliamento. Spectators will have free admittance, a chance to follow race’s emotions from a spectacular observatory and have a toast all together in an musical atmosphere.
“HIGH LEVEL OF SAFETY”. It is clearly great the Organizers’ dedication to guarantee the highest safety level both to spectators and to participants, also thanks to an helicopter of Elifriulia overflying the track. Once more a co-operation will be demonstrated by the Fuoristrada Club 4x4 Pordenone with Local Police, Traffic Corps and Italian Carabinieri corps, all security forces whose presence is always fundamental to control traffic and crossing along the route.
