News and confirmations will enrich the menu of the 23rd Italian Baja, which will be offered today (at 11am) by Palazzo Mantica, in Corso Vittorio Emanuele. The race valid for the FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup and the FIM Bajas World Cup can count on 115 entries, considering cars, bikes and quads.
The number confirms the success of the race, even if bikers' requests are lightly decreased, as cars participation is impressively increased, confirming the importance of the race inside of the World Cup.
This year competitors will come from all five continents, allowing the Land to get wide visibility and great glamour. Even the biggest champions won't miss the race, as Nasser Al-Attiyah and Stéphane Peterhansel; the female crew composed by the New Zealander Emma Gilmour and the South African Sara Labuscagne will certainly rise curiosity, as well as the new electric vehicles facing the race with a prototype Acciona, or the challenge against disability fought by the deaf-mute driver Mohammed Al-Harqan; and what about the highlander Franco Picco (60 years old), formidable example of agonistic longevity?
