New Council, now full speed ahead with Artugna and Italian Baja
Bruno Bavaresco, one of the founding fathers in 1983, was nominated honorary president
Pordenone, 1st February 2025. New energy is always needed for a great comeback. The Fuoristrada Club 4x4 Pordenone started the new year with the election of the new executive board: president Andrea Vignola, vice-president Carlo Ragogna, secretary Luciano Pellarin. The new arbitrators are 3 women, Tamara Moro, Valentina De Caro, Mara Temporin. Bruno Bavaresco was nominated honorary president for his undisputed merits, not only because he’s one of the founding fathers (1983), and still contributing in the organization, but also for the loyalty and the passion with which once he held various positions and today keeps pouring enthusiasm into young recruits.
Now everyone is working for the first seasonal date, the Artugna Race 15° Italian Baja di Primavera (March 21/22), opening of the Italian Cross Country Championship. The news in this case concerns logistics, with everything now gravitating around Aviano (start and finish, headquarters and service park), as well as the track that this year will follow the bed of the Artugna river between Aviano, Budoia and Polcenico.
But the greatest effort, naturally, will be July 3/5 at the Italian Baja that is again valid for the World Cup as well as the European Cup, the Italian Championship and the Hungarian one too. After just one gap year, the FIA reintroduced the race in the World Cup program, as a result especially of the organizational management’s expertise. The most important news is an important “déjà-vu”: the return to the Pordenone Fair, perfect environment for the international challenge’s headquarters.
And Mauro Tavella? Of course he’ll be Chief Executive Officer on both Artugna and Baja, cornerstones of off road sports that know how to entertain as well as to promote the territory. "I carry inside the memories - says Bavaresco - of when we went up and down the hills with our jeeps, savoring the taste of adventure. Today that’s no longer possible, but the competitions retain intact the charm of those unrepeatable seasons".
