Tavella: “We will try to even be better”
As for the World Cup, the victory snatched by Jakub Przygonski with the All4 Racing finally celebrates the Mini. Until now victory was signed by the Toyota Hilux Overdrive (once by Aron Domzala, three times by Nasser Al-Attiyah) and the Peugeot 3008 of Sheik Khalid Al Qassimi. The fifth position of the Dutch Jes Munk saved the results got at the Italian Baja by the Team of Jean Marc Fortin. The podium was seized also by the excellent second position of Miroslav Zapletal with Ford 150 and Mohammed Abu-Issa with another Mini X-Raid giving satisfaction to Sven Quandt.
TOYODELL BIS. Elvis Borsoi can now secure himself the lead with his Toyota Toyodell prepared by Collodel 4x4. After gaining victory at the Spring Baja, the driver from Falzé di Piave signed another success at the Baja World Cup, assuring himself an important margin ahead on Lorenzo Codecà and his Suzuki Grand Vitara which didn’t seem to easily face stones, holes and water characterizing the Cosa and Tagliamento riverbeds. In the absence of Roberto Camporese, the hard race gave anyway scores also to Andrea Toro and Nicolò Algarotti (lonely T3 leader), as well as to Andrea Alfano, in third on the Italian Podium. SUPER VAGAGGINI. Mauro Vagaggini, who ironically even didn’t realize he was the winner, takes part in competitions just for fun. The victory in TM Group with his Yamaha Quaddy is for sure something to be proud of. Defeated Ventura (in first at the Spring Baja) and Scandola with a crippled Polaris (axle shaft). Second position in the Overall between Borsoi and Codecà. As for Side by Side vehicles, podium gained by Tonetti and Versace,.
THE LONLY ACCIONA. It’s been nice to follow the crew of the Acciona 100% EcoPowered, composed by Andrea Mayer Peterhansel and Emma Clair, from the official presentation on June 10th by palazzo Mantica until the finishing line in piazza XX Settembre, in Pordenone. The future will reveals if the “green” project about tout terrain vehicles will be developed. It has certainly been a honor for the Italian Baja to host the European debut of the prototype with electrically powered propulsion.
“CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISMS”. “The final balance is anyway very positive “ confirms Mauro Tavella, Team leader of the Fuoristrada Club 4x4 Pordenone. “As in all other races of course there was some mistake. Every year we are supposed to improve the event and we try to do it. We consider only constructive criticisms. They will help us to greatly celebrate in 2018 the 25th anniversary of the Italian Baja”.
