An unbelievable challenge will be offered by the Italian Baja, from June 23rd to June 26th.
A challenge characterized as the Olympic Games by the five interlocking rings, as participants this year will come from all five continents and there will be Nasser Al-Attiyah, Olympic athlete who won the bronze medal in London in 2012 (skeet specialty). The ace from Qatar, who supported the participation of the New Zealander Emma Gilmour together with the South African Sara Labuscagne with a Mitsubishi Pajero T2 of RalliArt, is also ready to look for his third victory on the gravel soil offered by the Meduna, Tagliamento and Cosa riverbeds, before to come back to his training to face Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
He will do his best to also take part in the Italian Baja press conference, on Saturday, June 18th (at 11am) in Pordenone, by palazzo Montereale Mantica in Corso Vittorio Emanuele. Two weeks before the start from Cordenons, the race registered over 100 participants, considering competitors taking part in the FIA World Cup Cross Country Rally (car), FIM Bajas World Cup and FIM Baja European Championship (motorbike and quad).
Among them the Russian Boris Gadasin and Andrey Novikov, the Ukrainian Iaroslav Tovstyk and Oleksandr Bashynskyi, the Arabian Yasir Seaidan, the American Bryce Menzies, the Peruvian Raul Orlandini, drivers and bikers coming from all European Nations, from Portugal to Bulgary. A “melting pot” made by different nationalities, experiences, values, characterized by the same unconditional passion for Cross Country Rallies.
Italian Baja represents an extraordinary way to highlight our Land, with Head Quarter by the Pordenone Fair, start and arrival line in Cordenons on Friday, June 24th, start and arrival line in Valvasone on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th (San Lorenzo/Ponte della Delizia), arrival of the stage in Zoppola on Saturday evening, Prize Giving Ceremony by the Fair on Sunday afternoon. The transfer will cross Arzene, San Martino, Rauscedo, San Giorgio della Richinvelda, Spilimbergo, towns which symbolized a race roaring emotions.
