Whenever we say Kazakhstan, Astana comes to mind; not the Country capital city, but the Team composed by Nibali and Aru, Italian cycling champions. Covered by steppe in the North, by desert in the South, the Country has a population density of about 6,3 people per km2 and disposes of great natural sources (iron, carbon, petrol, methane).
This ex republic of the Soviet Union represents a giant to be discovered, including its Cross Country Rallies aces. Yuriy Sazonov and Kamat Shagirov who will participate in the Italian Baja (June 25th/28th) trying to defend the colors of their Mobilex Racing Team; both drivers will face the track with vehicles Group T1.1, petrol, 4x4. Sazonov, who seized the 8th position in Russia (Northern Forest) and Egypt (Pharaons Rally) and gained the 7th place in Qatar (Sealine Cross Country Rally), will drive a prototype H3 Evo5, navigated by Arslan Sakhimov.
Shagirov, on the other hand, who took part just in Qatar and Egyptian races, will have at disposal a Toyota Hilux Overdrive to share race’s emotions with his navigator Alexandr Moroz. Denis Berezovskiy, navigated by Ignat Falkov, will try to gain ponts in Russia, Abu Dhabi and Egypt with a Nissan Patrol Y62 prepared by Tecnosport from Como.
