Entries increase day by day at the Italian Baja (June 25th/28th) also for car competition, fifth race of the World Cup for Cross Country Rallies which recalled once more the “Zar” Boris Gadasin but also his greatest challenger Vladimir Vasilyev.
Both drivers come from Saint Petersburg, the old capital city of Russian Empire which nowadays is considered to be the second most important Russian city; the two rivals have been facing many tracks fighting one against the other. Gadasin (who gained victory in 2007, 2009, 2011) will try to finally get his forth victory in Pordenone driving his G-Force Proto New Line (T1.1), together with a navigator whose name hasn’t been revealed yet; the only pilot who succeeded in this exploit is Pierre Lartigue (1994-1997) with his formidable Citroen Zx Rally Raid. Vasilyev is living a successfully season, as he leads the World Cup thanks to his very good results: the victory at the Desert Challenge in Abu Dhabi, the second position seized at the Russian Northern Forest as well as at the Sealine Rally in Qatar, the third place gained at the Pharaons Rally.
Together with Konstantin Zhiltsov he will have at disposal a Bmw X3 (T1.2) of the G-Energy Team, less powerful than that G-Force Proto which led him to victory at the Italian Baja in 2012. A third Russian Team will face the race, composed by Maxim Kirpilev and Andrei Rudnitski with a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 (T2.2), which is seizing the eighth position in the Overall Rank thanks to the result obtained at the Qatar race.
